  • PCSA 2025 JAMA Submission

  • Please adhere to the following instructions:

Submit manuscripts to JAMA Surgery using the Online Manuscript Submission and Review System starting on April 8, 2025 until 11:59 pm PDT, April 15, 2025.

    • Adhere to the “Instructions for Authors” for manuscript guidelines.
    • Failure to submit the manuscript format (research letter or original investigation) recommended by the Program Committee may be grounds for rejection by JAMA Surgery editors.
    • Remember to select, 'PCSA Original Investigation' or 'PCSA Research Letter' when submitting.

    DURING THE MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

    • Include on the title page of the manuscript a footer stating “Accepted for presentation at the 2025 PCSA Annual Meeting”
    • Include the above information in the “Meeting Presentation” field during the submission process.

    AFTER SUBMISSION
Upon submission of the manuscript to JAMA Surgery, authors must submit the following information on this form:

    • JAMA Surgery assigned manuscript number
    • Manuscript title
    • Name of first author
    • Name of Senior Author
    • The names, institutions, and email addresses of three (3) PCSA members who could serve as unbiased reviewers of the manuscript. These members should NOT be contacted but should have expertise in the manuscript content area to be able to scientifically review the paper.

Please note: Failure to submit the above information for the PCSA Recorder will result in a general JAMA Surgery editorial review without special consideration affiliated with the PCSA meeting.

Submission of a manuscript for consideration for publication as part of the PCSA Annual Meeting implies a willingness by first and/or senior authors to review 1-3 other manuscripts for JAMA Surgery in a timely fashion, if requested to do so. For the peer review process to function well, it is imperative that all first and/or senior authors be willing to participate in the process as reviewers in addition to functioning as authors.
