  • Join us on Sept. 12-14th in Phoenix, Arizona for AVAHO's 205 Annual Meeting.   This will be our 20th Anniversary Celebration!

    **All disciplines in the cancer care process are welcome. Please see our annual meeting page for more information on how to register.

    **Only current AVAHO members can attend (500 limit).

    **You must have your dues current and paid for 2 years consecutively prior to registration. Your registration will be reviewed and once approved, you will receive further instructions on travel.

    **Only those with badges will be allowed to participate in AVAHO activities. This is an IN-PERSON event only, we are not offering a virtual option this year.

    **If you have any questions about joining AVAHO or membership eligibility, please contact Candy at candy@avaho.org . More information will be available as we get closer to the event on our website.

    VA employees (non-speakers) can attend the AVAHO Annual Meeting WITHOUT seeking approval from their site, VISN, or program office, as long as:

    1. They are attending on annual leave (AL) or on off-duty time.
    2. They are using pesonal funds or AVAHO travel assistance to attend the event.

  • Travel and Accommodations

  • You must book your travel by 8/15/2025.

    AVAHO will NOT support travel arrangements made after 8/15/2025.

    !! New this Year: Due to recent mandates in the VA and guidance from the National Oncology Program Office, we have initiated changes to protect our members. 

    • If you are a VA employee, AVAHO will only be offering travel support to members using Annual Leave (AL) to attend.
    • AVAHO highly encourages members requesting travel support to share a room with another AVAHO member attending the meeting. This will allow us to bring more members to the conference.
    • There is no additional cost when sharing a room. The full cost of the room (room and tax only) for up to 3 days (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night) will be FREE.
    • If you choose to purchase a single, private room: there is a cost of $125 per night for up to 3 nights. Please select the number of nights you would like to purchase in the additional items below.
    • YOU DO NOT NEED APPROVAL TO ATTEND USING YOUR PERSONAL TIME.
  • 2025 Pre Conference Sessions

  • Two pre-conference sessions will be offered this year!  Registration is required if you plan to attend.  AVAHO will not provide travel support for accomodations the night prior, as both conferences start in the afternoon.  Please book your flights accordingly to allow appropriate arrival time to attend. 

    Session One: Integrative Oncology Workshop- Offering Whole Person Cancer Care to Veterans

    Thursday, September 11th 2:00-6:00PM

    •  The purpose of this 4-hour workshop is to introduce AVAHO members to integrative whole person oncology care and provide practical guidance on how to integrate evidence-based complementary therapies and whole health practices into your care setting. The workshop will combine didactic presentation with experiential exercises and interactive small and large group work. You’ll hear from VA providers about how they have implemented integrative whole person cancer care into their work. In light of increasing demands on federal employees, our hope is that participants will also take away whole person care principles to use in their own daily life.

    Session Two: Oncology Pharmacy in Focus: BCOP Preconference by AVAHO and HOPA.  FREE BCOP Credits being offered! 

    Thursday, September 11th 1:00-6:00PM

    • This pre conference session, jointly hosted by AVAHO and HOPA, is designed to deliver high-quality, practice-focused oncology pharmacy content. Learners can expect an interactive program featuring in-depth presentations, case discussions, and evidence-based updates aligned with BCOP educational needs. Attendees will have the opportunity to earn BCOP credits while engaging with expert faculty and peers. Active participation, critical thinking, and application of content to clinical practice are encouraged to maximize learning outcomes.
